Sobo Alas is an adventure trekking in Merapi Mountain. Sobo (Javanese) means (don’t know yet), ...and Alas (Javanese) means forest. By join Sobo Alas you can enjoy the glorious of Merapi Mountain, definitely accompanied by the guide as the member of the rescue team of Merapi. The guide brings you for tracking the rest of Merapi Mountain’s lava and enjoying the fresh atmosphere of pine forest. In the meanwhile, you can see the landscape of Yogyakarta and also the view of the top of Merapi Montain. Sobo Alas is not merely trekking through the Merapi Mountain, but brings you to see many activities of Merapi’s origin, which are located on Kaliadem village. Its the slope of Merapi which approximately 5 km from the top of Merapi. This village produces cow milk, the highest number in Sleman regency.

We will brings you to see the traditional making process of palm sugar and lempeng (kind of snack in Java). You are able to ride "pedati", a traditional vehicle which is pulled by two cows, while you enjoy the activities of Merapi’s origin.

||||Kedakan Village::

Kedakan village is one of the villages surround the mountain. During the trip you can see a lot of kind of vegetables that can refresh your mind.
Kedakan village has some traditional performanceS of art, such as: Wayang Ndakan, Warok, Jaranan. Warok seems like Reyog Ponorogo and Jaranan is seems like kuda lumping or jathilan.
The people in Kedakan are open minded and friendly, you will feel comfort and secure to stay in the origin house we provided for you. The tourists stay in traditional house with their traditional facilities. Every house has living room, bed room and bath room. In the back of the house there is kitchen, called pawon. Pawon using traditional stove, which is the fuel is fire-wood. Pawon is not only used for cooking, but also for warming up the body when the condition getting cold.

You may join together with the society in the village when they plant at the field. In the early morning, before go to the garden, you will served with tea traditionally in their way. This village is known as the producer of vegetables which are distributed to some cities around it.

|||| Ngaduman village::

Ngaduman village is not too far from Kedakan. It can be reach by car less than 2 and half hours from Yogyakarta and the way to get there is full of beautiful view. The position of this village is higher than Kedakan. During the trip you can enjoy the field of vegetable that makes you oblivious with noisiness of downtown. The fresh air will brings you to free of pollution in the downtown.
We will bring you to imagine that you are in Tibet. The construction of the traditional house is still using wood for the main material and they use traditional architecture system that called limas (one of the traditional house of Java), there are 74 families. Another plus point is they are 100 % Christian and also already build a church. We will put you as a family there that makes you comfortable and feels Merbabu, feel like your second house.

||||Selo Ngisor village ::

Selo Ngisor village is located between Kedakan and Ngaduman village. Selo Ngisor has an advance agricultural system, and it known as a producer of vegetables. There are many kinds of vegetables there.

Selo Ngisor known as a central of organic agriculture. You will see many kinds of vegetables that planted by an organic system. If you want to know more information about these organic plants such as seedling, fertilizing, and harvesting, you can always stay at this village for view days.
